With regard to the needs of students, I do understand that students have
a need for additional information. However, white papers developed by
organizations are not really intended for students. They are designed
to highlight what that vendor believes to be key issues, and are
targeted primarily at those who influence near-term purchases and who
may well be decision-makers. Since such white papers are often slanted
to serve the needs of a particular vendor, I would not see it as a great
source of unbiased information, either.
There are sources of information that students might make use of,
including information available on web sites, and perhaps student
memberships in ARMA International that can help supplement the
information provided in the classroom, and can supplement text books.
