Isn't it actually just an amendment to the original contract and not a
new contract? With my company's files we keep it all and we have
amendments and not whole new contracts. Actually, we mainly have leases
which are contracts and our retention is 10 years for those.

Knowledge is of two kinds: we know a subject ourselves, or we know where
we can find information upon it.

Subject: Retention Question

Hello... what is the general rule regarding retention guidelines for
keeping
revised records? Example a contract is signed off today; 6 mths later
the
contract needs to be changed. How long or do you need to keep the
original
contact?

Regards,

Joe
