On August 13, NARA's Great Lakes Region will present its seventh annual Electronic Records Forum at the Metcalfe Federal Building in downtown Chicago. This year's forum will focus on two Federal agencies' experiences with implementing electronic records management systems (also known as records management applications) within their organizations and also include a NARA presentation on how employees' use of wikis and blogs to share and exchange information is affecting Federal records managers. Scheduled speakers will be Lynn Calvin from EPA-Region 5, Mary Rose Kerg from the Bonneville Power Administration (Department of Energy), and Denise Pullen from NARA-College Park.In addition to these guest presenters, there will also be updates from local NARA records management staff on such subjects as NARA's revised policy concerning "media-neutral" records retention schedules, its ongoing national initiative to assist customer agencies with scheduling their electronic records for official retention as required by the Office of Management and Budget (OMB), and the current status of the Electronic Records Archives. While the primary audience for this year's Forum is Federal agency program managers, records managers, and IT specialists, attendance is open to all who wish to register. Please join us for an informative morning of presentations.
