Just a note that I'm glad to hear that you're not a vendor.  Such a
discussion launched by a vendor could result in a Federal Trade
Commission inquiry about "price fixing" or "restraint of trade".  I'd be
shocked if such a thing ever happened in the RIM field, but who knows???

As for fees, it all depends on the project.  Microfilming what? Scanning
what documents? What dpi is required? Is color or is grayscale required?
What indexing is required? Must it be data-entered? What accuracy are
you seeking?  Are the services to be provided on-site (in your offices?)
or off-site, in the vendor's offices?  What volumes of records need to
be filmed, scanned or indexed?  What other services may be required?
Loading into your ECM system? Do you want on-line access to records
scanned during the conversion process?  

It's tough to estimate the fees charged for such services, unless
someone estimating those costs knows a bit more about a potential
project.
