Hi Nolene, 

All of Curtis' points are spot on. But I'd add one more: it's been my
experience that a lack of subscription/maintenance does not cause the
application itself to stop working - rather it means that the vendor
can't/won't help with any issues that come up such as the lack of ability to
manage TIFs in Laserfiche as records without buying its RM module
(DOD-certified last I knew). In other words, the TIFs should still be
available to be accessed & used, they just wouldn't be being managed the
same way or as effectively. 

There still should be some sort of export capability, which should include
the images and at least some of the metadata; in addition, you could
probably have Laserfiche or one of its resellers do an export and perhaps
even an import as a professional services engagement. Still would have to
pay for that though.
