The NorCal ARMA Spring Seminar: April 18, 2013, 9 am to 2 pm
 
                The Tri-Chapter Spring Seminar, hosted by the Mt. Diablo,
Silicon Valley and Golden Gate Chapters of ARMA International,
is entering its third year and with the addition of the Greater Sacramento
Chapter, we're changing our name to "NorCal ARMA".
 
This year's topic is: "Information Security: Protecting your company's and
your personal information"
 
The Seminar has one speaker already tentatively lined up who works at a
management level in a government agency responsible for information security
on a federal level.  To round out our discussions, we are seeking speakers
in the public and private sectors that specialize in Information Security.
They can be you, someone you work with or someone you know professionally.
Your organization can have Information Security policies, products or
services.  Our two thematic subgroups are corporate and personal security.
 
                Corporate:  how does your company, agency or product deal
with Identity and Access Management, Mobile Security and BYOD, Privacy,
Cryptography?  .and other area of interest:
 
                                -              Employee Records and
Information: Security and Privacy for the Digital HR Department
                                -              Medical Information
(especially if your employer/product is in the Health Care sector)
                                -              Financial Information
(especially if your employer/product is in the Banking or Financial Services
sectors)
                                -              In-House IT Departments:
Virtualization Security and Architecture, Network Security, Cloud Security
                                -              Information Governance
Professionals: what policies and procedures govern security and how do you
evaluate compliance?
 
 
                Personal:  In a time where firewalls are breached, PIN
numbers and passwords are hacked, social sites are lurked and laptops or
personal digital devices are stolen
- - what can individuals do to maintain their personal and professional
information security?

                                -              Cloud Based Archiving
                                -              Password Creation
                                -              Protecting your personal and
company's mobile devices
                                -              Firewalls and encryption at
home and at work
                                -              Preventing and detecting
identity theft
