As records managers, were are all familiar with the various considerations
we employ when scheduling records - the four values: operational, legal,
fiscal, historical; primary copy vs. duplicate, copies in other parts of
the organization, input documents & data, output, etc., etc. We do have
more or less a standard methodology. But I wonder, has anyone every
written this out into one complete process flow, a standard process, if
you will, flow-charted out with decisions and opening & closing gates
based on answers and conditions?
If someone has done this or seen this (heck, it might in the lastest RIM
text book for all I know), would you like to share? If no one has done
this, it might have some value, not only an helping in individual schedule
a record, but also in helping us improve the process, explain the process
to others, vary/adapt the process to stickier record series like
databases, etc.
Thoughts?
