I hope you're wrong, Bill. The DoD 5015.2 lies at the core of what we do as modern Records Management professionals. Our support for it (or opposition to it) is a critical part of the services we provide our customers. I'd hate to think there are people out there in our industry who wouldn't want to engage in a productive discussion about it because it's a topic 'too heavy for a Friday'.

And thanks for forwarding my post to the JITC. I heard from Jana Gallatin off-line yesterday and I would expect her to post her own comments very soon. Stay tuned...

I was waiting to hear from my fellow RM/IG professionals, too. I did forward the post to the JITC, the DoD entity responsible for 5015.02. Maybe we will get their perspective. As for me, I tend to agree with most of Don's points. But maybe this topic is too heavy for a Friday :-)
