TOPIC: Building a RIM Program – Assessment, Vision, War Stories
Demand continues to grow for the skills and perspective of those who are successful in Records & Information Management (RIM). Reviewing approaches to building a RIM program and hearing ”war stories” from shared among attendees will generate ideas that you and your programs can leverage. Presentation objectives include the following:

·         Interactive discussion in order to explore real world “war stories”, hearing solutions and generating ideas from those in the audience.

·         A brief foundational look at building an overall RIM program – processes, tools, reference sources, required skills, etc.

·         Early phase assessment that will benefit anyone building a new program or needing to take a step back and consider options for a way forward with a more mature program.

·         Insight and perspective from experience in various industries – Energy, Pharmaceutical, Not for Profit, Financial, Government, Legal and more.

SPEAKER BIO:   David Smythe, Director at Credit Suisse, has developed Records & Information Management programs in financial, pharmaceutical, manufacturing and not for profit entities. His experience in the RIM space includes strategic visioning and planning, policy and procedure development, governance and leadership, retention schedule creation and maintenance, inventory management, education and outreach, e-discovery, data management, document scanning, workflow, ECM, regulatory assessment, performance measurement and management, management consulting and more. He is a member of ARMA and AIIM and has MBA and Economics degrees.
