"Now that is taking me back.  There was an A&W drive-in restaurant in London Ontario where I grew up, that the waitress would bring our real glass frosted mugs of root-beer on roller skates right to the car!"

We actually still have a 50s drive-in in town - homemade root beer, soda jerks and carhops wearing roller-skates!
