I've been asked to forward this message to my contacts.

Now is the time to submit your workshop and session proposals!

The 2015 Western Roundup, a joint conference of the Conference of
Inter-Mountain Archivists (CIMA), Northwest Archivists (NWA), Society of
California Archivists (SCA), and Society of Rocky Mountain Archivists
(SRMA), will be held May 27-30, 2015 in Denver, Colorado.

The Workshop and Session Proposal Form can be found on SRMA's website:
http://tinyurl.com/oywxk3a

The deadline for submitting session proposals is Friday, October 31, 2014.
Electronic submissions are preferred.

The Western Roundup is a great place to give a premiere run of a
presentation you also propose to SAA. See
http://www.srmarchivists.org/meeting/2015-western-roundup/ for more
information. If you have any questions or ideas to discuss, contact Program
Co-Chairs Maria Tucker ([log in to unmask]) Ellen Jarosz (

Help us make this an interesting and stimulating conference!

Thank you,

2015 Western Roundup Program Committee

Session Proposal Ideas:

• Outreach to user communities, including new technologies used
to create and market programs that promote increased use, resources,
visibility, and support for institutions and collections onsite and online.

• Privacy and confidentiality, especially access and
restriction policies in the age of immediate access

• Selection, appraisal, and acquisition policies and procedures
used to identify, evaluate, acquire, and authenticate records and papers of
enduring value in varying media and formats.

• Arrangement and description of records in any format, and the
development of descriptive tools and systems that provide access to
collections.

• Workflows and impact of mass digitization projects on reading
room dynamics, user expectations, and public service generally

• Relationships between archives, archivists, and allied
professions.
