The tapes are artifacts of an extinct Internet
<http://www.fastcodesign.com/explore/extinct-internet>, providing insights
into the way we saw the web 20 years ago, and perspective on what it has
grown into today. Some of the material seems hilariously basic—though it
reveals how little some basic structures of the Internet have changed. "The
focus is around using [the Internet] as a giant encyclopedia," Baio says of
the videos presentations. "They say things like, 'A website is like a book.
It's divided into chapters, and clicking a hyperlink is like going to a
page.'"

"The problems of our economy have occurred not as an outgrowth of
laissez-faire, unbridled competition.
They have occurred under the guidance of federal agencies, and under the
umbrella of federal regulations."
Senator Ted Kennedy, in defending trucking deregulation in 1978.
