Yep, the 'keeps flowing' part is true... BUT if you shut off the water and
turn it back on, because the fusible element is gone, water will again
begin flowing through them, like a an uncapped sprinkler nozzle on a hose.

And I get this part, but shouldn't that have been the call of the warehouse
operator, NOT the fire department?

I also don't get the fire department leaving the scene unsecured- they
typically are required to secure a scene after they enter. or to leave a
crew on scene until the owner is there to accept responsibility before
leaving.... they even do this with a home fire of an unoccupied home.

I doubt we'd hear any more on this (officially) for weeks, at minimum. As
I told someone else, there is PLENTY of blame to go around on this.

I suspect the U.S. Fire Administration (a division of FEMA--see

and this may be a year or more in the waiting, as previous USFA reports
have been.
