Hollow points flatten out on impact - much too quick. They "splat" so to speak, before penetrating. Steel tips work best. They go clean through, just like using a drill. Problem is, they keep going and going and going. So make sure and do it at the foot of a hill. Or in your records center with a lot of destruction boxes in behind them. A lot of them!

Some prefer the hollow point. I have also found that 45/70 works darn well,
but unless you do your own reloading the cost per disposal goes up quite a
bit. It is a very cathartic experience, I recommend it highly.
