People think that if their file name is 40 characters long they are well
under the 255 characters. However, the count starts at the root
directory so if your directories are very nested (and I have seen
directories that go down to 13 levels) you have used up most of your
characters.

Personal experience - develop concise naming conventions for folders
and file names and don't repeat the folder names in the file name.
