Yes, actually, there's a big difference. You don't say what your native
language is (French?), because maybe someone who speaks your language
can explain it better, but here is my simple explanation (Peter's is
correct, but depending on how good your English is, you may or may not
get all of it)

Inventory - it is a process for of identifying what you have (records,
products, equipment). It can also be the end product of such a process
-- a listing of all items found.

Finding Aid - is an index, or a program or some other "thing" that
searches your inventory to find the particular item you are looking for.
