as I stated earlier that is exactly what they do, by collecting the
demographics they can go to their advertisers and say "see this is who
visits or webpages"

an excellent idea

deeplinking is the safest way to share stories with colleagues, and as
you rightly noted keeps you out of copyright hell. many of the major
publishers have 'bots scouring the 'net looking for their articles. I
should know
