Also welcome to the list.

I worked for the ORC - Ontario Realty Corporation about 9 months ago on
contract. The current Records Manager is Brenda Main 416-327-1035 and she
has a wealth of knowledge for you to tap into. I know that since we were an
agency of the Government of Ontario, we could set up our own schedule,
however, they ultimately needed to be signed off by the Archives. Brenda
also has templates I created/used to perform end user survey's etc.

The Archives of Ontario can give you the information for the Common Schedule
and Templates. In addition they offer training courses as well.

In addition, SSB - Share Services Breau can give you assistance with GOV.ON
standards and provide resource support, etc. The manager's name I belive is
Dave Jackson, but, you can confirm it from from Brenda.

Also both groups have great information available on the intranet site.

If you need anything further please don't hesitate to contact me directly at

Barry -

First and foremost, a heartfelt welcome from and ex-patriot colleague.

You can get a lot of useful information from the Archives of Ontario
Recorded Information Management (RIM) webpage at:

 http://www.archives.gov.on.ca/english/rimdocs/index.html

Further information will be available from the particular Senior
Archivist responsible for the records of the Ministry of Economic
Development and Trade. Two years ago that person was John Dirks ([416]
327-1595) - however the person and/or number may have changed. John or
his replacement can give you the most up-to-date information on records
scheduling, surveying and inventorying forms and practice within the
Government of Ontario.

Hope this helps.

Cheers!

Mark

Hello

This is my first posting and I am new to this service. My name is Barry
Sussman and I'm with the Ontario Lottery @ Gaming Corporation in
Toronto, Canada.

I'm just about to start an inventory assessment and am looking for some
best practice suggestions. Specifically I want to know how people may
have worded their request of users in determining format electronic /
paper and volumes. I would also like information guidelines in
measuring volumes.

Your comments / experiences / suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
