Salary range for this position is from $32,000 – 49,000/year, depending

The University of Texas Medical Branch (UTMB) in Galveston, a leading
academic health sciences center located on the Texas Gulf Coast, is
searching for a highly motivated and enthusiastic candidate for the
position of Senior Records Specialist with the Department of
Logistics-Records Management. Join an establishment with a reputation

In addition to UTMB’s more than 12,000 employees, faculty and staff,
UTMB also is home to more than 2,000 students in the medical, nursing,
allied health and graduate biomedical sciences.

The Senior Records Specialist will be responsible for the coordination,
appraisal, scheduling, handling, storing, retrieval and preservation of
official records on any medium in compliance with institutional, state
and federal regulations and guidelines for UTMB. Duties will include
accessioning, filing, circulation, and disposition of records; customer
training and inquiries; and keeping abreast of new record retention
developments.

The ideal candidate will possess a minimum of a bachelor’s degree or
equivalent in a related field, four years of records management
experience, be a Certified Records Manager or equivalent, and have a
valid Texas Class C driver’s license.  He/she should also have
experience with records management tools, policies and practices; and
should be able to plan, lead and implement projects, effectively
organize the workload, and contribute to the Record Center team.
Preferred skills include strong oral and written communication skills
and proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
