The National Archives and Records Administration--Northeast Region is pleased to announce two training opportunities in New York, New York on Tuesday-Thursday, March 22-24, 2005.

NARA has developed an exciting new curriculum of comprehensive records management courses designed to provide public sector managers and staff with the skills and tools to meet the changing recordkeeping environment.

Participants in NARA's records management courses will receive a comprehensive overview of managing information by performing practical task-oriented, hands-on exercises throughout each course. The courses focus on using records management as a tool for supporting agency business processes.

We will present the new curriculum in New York  in March:

Introduction to Federal Records Management
March 22, 2005

What is a valuable agency resource and business asset? Records. This course provides an overview of the basic concepts and practices of managing Federal records. understand the variety of activities involved at each stage of the records life cycle-creation, maintenance and use, and disposition.

Who Should Attend?

All Federal and other public sector staff will find this introductory course helpful to understanding Federal records management. This course will be especially useful for agency managers and employees who can only attend records management training for one day.

Creating and Maintaining Agency Business Information
March 23-24, 2005

What are Federal records management requirements, why are they important, and how are they applied to agency records? This course focuses on the development and implementation of polices and procedures for adequate and proper documentation. Understand how recordkeeping requirements for creating and maintaining records can improve the economy and efficiency of agency operations.

Who Should Attend?

Anyone involved with the development or implementation of a records system, whether using traditional paper filing methods or electronic document/records management applications.

These courses will be held in the 6th floor Conference Center, 26 Federal Plaza, New York, New York  They are scheduled from 8:30 am until 4:00 pm.  Our records management training costs $150 each day of training. The courses are offered primarily for Federal employees but are also open to Federal contractors and employees of State and local  governments, as well as academic and international organizations.
