Hi! I've been lurking on the list for a few days now and wanted to get
opinions/advice on pursuing the CRM designation.
Allow me to introduce myself. I presently live in the Atlanta, GA metro
area. I'm in my first semester in a distance learning program to earn my
MLIS from Florida State.
I had already taken several classes in the library school at UT Knoxville
when I was in law school.
(Did I forget to mention that I have a JD, but have never had and have no
desire to practice law?)
Through the auspices of Professor Mike Pemberton, I attended at least one
records management event in those long ago and far away days.
Following law school, I went to work for a legal information vendor (one of
the big two) and spent 10 years with them prior to leaving their employ in
2002.
I just signed up for a student membership in ARMA last week and am looking
forward to learning more about the organization and, possibly, joining the
local group.
My question/request for advice is about pursuing the CRM. Is this something
I need to do as an entry credential for the field or can I/should I wait
until I have the MLIS in hand before beginning to study for the CRM?
 Many thanks for all responses...
