as has been mentioned many times on this list in the past, retention
is determined by content not media. That said what are the electronic
records/data that you are concerned about? The retention period, as
that famous  papyrophobe Steve W would say, is determined by analysing
the operational, administrative, fiscal, legal and historical need for
the records as well as researching any statutory/regulatory
requirements.
