Yes, generate and maintain the evidentiary support records--but don't
store them on the old system.  A good conversion plan should include a
date when that antique database server gets unplugged.

Gary,  I'll agree that the database wouldn't need to be kept for RIM
purposes but wouldn't some IT records be needed maintain the
evidentiary
value of records contained in the database.  These could include a
migration plan, testing parameters,error rates,metadata,etc.  Without
these support records how do we know we've still got "GOOD " records.
