Scott is right when he says "All this leads me to believe that the best
thinkers, whether their majors be in business, archives, or art
appreciation, have the competencies that we require for our profession"

My background is photography and marketing.  How those two are related to
RM is well beyond me but I have found that with the marketing, I have used
those skills to build a higher profile of RM within the organization.  We
have just recently implemented an EDRMS which took a three year selling
job.

So use what you have to your advantage, it will provide a higher profile
and income at your organization.
