Thanks to everyone for the responses on this...it sounds like it's the
same for a lot of states.  I was able to track down a little more info
on Texas law, and it appears we're right in line with the rest of you.
Good, I'm glad we don't have one more records series to add to our
retention schedule!

Deanna, in Nevada each notary is responsible for their own notary
journal.  Retention, disposition, and other specific requirements are
also established by state statute.

Do you all consider notary books to be a records series belonging to
the
organization or just to the person who is the notary?  Would it make a
difference if the organization paid for that person to become a
notary?




And if it is a record belonging to the organization, any ideas on
retention period?
