The Server Vault is an environment that protects the Servers, Routers,
RAID units and the internal air conditioning for the Servers as the
blade servers run so hot you need air conditioning above an beyond what
older servers required. All the Servers are in the Server Vault.
The Data Media Vault is then installed away from the Server Vault so
that they are separated by some distance. ( From 30' to across the
building.) But they are totally separate entities. Each client has
their own plan. In a vault in North Carolina, there will be two Server
Vaults in two separate buildings. They are joined only by a fiber optic
link. The second Server Vault mirrors the first. In this case, no
media vault is utilized. The first Server Vault is manned with fifteen
offices and conference rooms around it. The second Server Vault is
never manned and a few offices are there but they will remain empty
unless there is a disaster in the first data center or during a mock
trial.
