Dear Listserv,
I have a question, please. A few weeks ago, the home of a friend of mine burned to the ground. He is now attempting to recover his personal papers and photographs. Now, you and I both know that the best way to recover these materials is within the first 24--48 hours of the disaster--however, he's just now turning his attention to these materials.
Besides the obvious list of supplies and procedures (correct gloves, tubs of clean, distilled water, etc.), can anyone share some simple cleaning techniques for mixed media once the disaster has passed?
Thank you for your time,
Mimi Dionne
