Jean, are you a corporate office, a division of a larger organization, or a
stand alone company. What functions  are included in the RM  operation?  That
is the key. Has scheduling already been established? Have  systems been
established? Is software in place. Where in the organizational  structure does RM
fit? Caution. Don't overstaff. It is easier to justify  expansion rather than
face cut-backs. We had a corporate staff of 2 (records  director and staff
assistant, supported by division coordinators) and a  corporate records center
staff of 6 (250,000 cu.ft ). Number of employees may be  a factor, but is not a
major criteria.

An oft raised question. You should receive a lot of interesting  input.
