Question:  If anyone sees any stories about efforts by communities to assist older people or people of limited means, who might not own computers, scanners, flash drives, external back up drives, etc., please do post them to the List.

Suggestion:  As with the issue of transporting people out of urban areas, when considering personal records, it's good to keep in mind that not everyone is as well off and/or as techno oriented as most of us who subscribe to the List!  The WaPo articles provide suggestions for how to preserve and store off site digital copies of your personal vital records.  If anyone has elderly relatives who don't have computers (you know, the older people who don't HATE PAPER!!!), you might consider asking them if they would like you to digitize some of their records for them.
