Law Technology News
Ask, "What's metadata?" and you'll probably hear, "It's data about
data." That's a completely accurate answer, but a useless one. Metadata
is the
electronic equivalent of DNA, ballistics and fingerprint evidence, with
the power
to exonerate and incriminate, but even that doesn't answer the question.
Understanding metadata and the evidentiary significance it holds is
becoming an essential lawyer skill. Craig Ball, attorney and e-discovery
