PDF IN THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT ENVIRONMENT:
THE PRESENT AND FUTURE

A CENDI Sponsored Workshop

Date: April 6, 2006

Place: Auditorium, National Transportation Safety Board Conference Center, 429 L'Enfant Plaza, SW,
Washington, DC.

The CENDI Digital Preservation Task Group and the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) are sponsoring "PDF in the Federal Government Environment: The Present and Future" at the National Transportation Safety Board Conference Center Auditorium in Washington DC on April 6, 2006. PDF has become prevalent in all government organizations from offices to libraries and archives. This one-day workshop, which is a repeat of the highly successful workshop held at the National Archives in May 2005, will look at the current and future uses of PDF as well as the standards, issues, and future developments. Topics will include PDF/A (the standard for archival PDF), XMP (the metadata component), and PDF in document management.

The formal presentations will be followed by two panels of government information managers and national library staffs discussing the issues and future requirements.

This workshop will be of interest to those inside and outside the government who create, publish, manage or archive government information, including librarians, publications managers, project managers, records managers, archivists, and IT support personnel.

Please register by March 30. Registration is available online at http://cendievents.infointl.com/pdfwkshop0406.html The latest agenda and logistics information will also be made available from this site.
