UNIVERSITY RECORDS MANAGER
Manuscripts Department, University Archives and Records Service

The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill seeks qualified
applicants for the full-time, permanent position of University Records
Manager. Under the direction of the University Archivist, the University

Records Manager administers the university's records management service
and supervises one half-time research assistant. The University Records
Manager surveys and analyzes campus records systems and drafts new
and/or revises current records retention and disposition schedules
according to federal and state regulatory requirements and campus needs.

The University Records Manager develops and provides a comprehensive
training program for campus records liaisons and other university
employees, and advises the university community on reformatting,
technical, security and records storage issues. The University Records
Manager works closely with University Counsel, Information Technology
Services, the Internal Audit Department, UNC System General
Administration, and various other units to insure compliance with state
and federal law and to identify the appropriate management of the
university's records in all formats. This position may require
occasional public service duties within the Manuscripts Department.

Qualifications
Required: Graduation from a four-year college or university and two
years of progressive experience in archival records or records
management work; or an equivalent combination of training and
experience.

Preferred: Additional directly related education, training and
experience; strong interpersonal, oral and written communication skills;

demonstrated organizational and planning skills; demonstrated teaching
or instruction experience and skills; the ability to perceive and
analyze problems, develop possible solutions, and test potential effects

of the solutions; proven knowledge and experience of information
management systems; experience with database, spreadsheet and word
processing software such as Microsoft Word, Access and Excel; and the
ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with
university administrators, staff, faculty and students.

Salary Range: $31,204-$49,965
