Perhaps there is an inherent value that can be assumed if a document's
provenance can be certainly established, and one way to do that might be
to write it to WORM.  We talk a lot about "authenticity" and how to
achieve that ... Might that make it "better evidence" because you locked
it down at the first reasonably available opportunity, even if you
didn't have to?  [ah yes, I know, therein lies the rub ...]

Even if that plays out to be true (or not!), I still think the answer to
the original question of [pardon the license here], "do we take special
measures to lock down information into an unalterable format in the
absence of business need and/or legal need, just to be sure?", is an
emphatic "No".

And Bill, I loved the Tax Court Magistrate quote!  He's one smart
cookie!
