Hi Bob,

If you can implement an ERMS that'll help because most of the systems
available today include an audit trail that is configurable as to what
events are logged but would include at a minimum the destruction or transfer
of an electronic record. DOD5015.2 requires that functionality, but there
are other non-certified systems that provide as well. The key is that it
will only log records it is aware of - whether they are in its repository or
elsewhere, if it doesn't know about them it won't log them.

Subject: Electronic Records Destruction

Does any one have any suggestions regarding procedures to document
destruction of electronic records? I am looking for something more than a
certificate, a process that would establish reliability in implementation of
a retention schedule for electronic records.
Thanks,
Bob
