Hi -

Citigroup recently gave a webcast where they shared their strategy on
how they are tackling this with their policies and procedures for
structured data and the apps they are going to retire. They are truly a
thought leader in this area and offer terrific insight on this specific
challenge as well as their global retention program in general.

Let me know if you would like to see this presentation or other past
presentations also available from the CGOC Portal -- I'd be happy to
send you the link to the portal with portal login information.

Regards,
Virginia

Subject: [RM] Disposition of Database/Systems Information & Records

Hello all:

We are reviewing/developing disposition procedures for information and
records that are maintained in whole or in part in a variety of
databases and systems.

For stand alone systems, we feel this is a pretty straight forward
issue.
For more complex systems with interdependencies on/to other systems,
databases, applications, etc., this becomes a potentially daunting task.

Complicating this further, when many of these systems were brought on
line RIM considerations (specifically deletion of information) were not
factored in and doing so may cause stability/usability problems.

Is anyone else tackling this issue? Are there any good resources out
there for more information?

Thanks,

Jason C. Stearns
