A piece of software that I've been playing around with might suit your
needs.  It's called PrintFolder Pro and through windows explorer let's you
take a snapshot of all folders and files, gives you total size and number
of files and lots of other variables to add to your query.  It's simple to
use. I'm thinking of trying to use this for a number of projects one being
for departing employees. The url that is inside the software is
