ECM / Records & Information Management Specialist (1 year contract position)

mining operations, production facilities, technology centre and through our
extensive marketing and sales network.
 
The Records and Information Management (RIM) group, based in Toronto and
Mississauga, Ontario is seeking an individual with knowledge, skills and
experience in Enterprise Content Management (ECM) to work as an Enterprise
Content Management / Records & Information Management Specialist for a
1-year contract. In addition to applying ECM skills and knowledge to
coordinate electronic document and records management system (EDRMS)
implementation activities, the ECM / RIM Specialist will be responsible and
accountable for the configuration and set-up of EDRMS components and the
translation of a records classification scheme, retention schedule and
metadata schema into the system. You will also be involved in the evaluation
and implementation of software tools to facilitate EDRMS implementation and
maintenance.  The ECM / RIM Specialist will also participate in RIM Program
implementation including communications, training, change management, and
program documentation (e.g. procedures).
 
You are expected to be a highly motivated, independent worker capable of
providing ECM leadership and expertise and, in particular, in providing
solutions to procedural and technical problems related to implementing
classification schemes, retention schedules and metadata schema within an
EDRMS.  As a member of a project team, you will assist in implementing an
EDRMS and a RIM Program. Your ECM experience is expected to include a good
understanding of ECM tools and databases, use of reporting tools, technical
writing for procedures, imaging standards and best practices, and use and
implementation of EDRMS (preferably OpenText Livelink eDocs DM, RM & BI
which was formerly Hummingbird DM, RM & BI).
 
Local GTA Travel will be required for this position.

Educational Requirements:
•	University degree in business administration, information technology
or library / information science or equivalent (experience and formal
training combined with demonstrated performance and ability may substitute
for academic requirements)
•	Completion of ECM and RIM courses or training (ECM and/or RIM
certificate / diploma preferred)
•	Training in the use of ECM systems, specifically for document and
records management and reporting tools

 Required Skills:
•	Good interpersonal and communication skills (both written and
verbal) 
•	Good presentation and training skills

Must Have Skills:
•	Minimum of 5 years of related ECM experience
•	Previous experience in configuring and setting up components of an
EDRMS
•	Previous experience in translating a records classification scheme,
retention schedule and metadata schema into an EDRMS
•	Detailed knowledge of RIM theory, standards and best practices

Nice To Have Skills:
•	Knowledge of process re-engineering and business process flow
analysis
•	Understanding of legislated and regulatory requirements for
recordkeeping as they apply to the mining industry
•	Comprehensive knowledge of technologies, equipment and supplies for
managing records in any media format
•	Experience in configuring and setting up components of OpenText
LiveLink eDocs DM, RM & BI (formerly Hummingbird DM, RM & BI)
