Here here! I liked your post Thomas. You are absolutely correct, in my viewpoint that you have to use the right medium/media for your topic. Also it depends on your audience.  I too enjoy the speaker, as much as the material (many times more so).  I like a dynamic speaker who engages you with real life experiences and lessons learned.  A speaker who has been down in the trenches and has rolled up his or her sleeves.  I don't like being lectured by someone who has never done it, as they really can't have an understanding of the issues.  I enjoy the speaker who uses the room well while presenting, looks directly at me, raises his or her voice and lowers it at the appropriate times and one who has a sense of humour and real life stories.  I like to walk away feeling good about it, like after you have a real good steak or a turkey meal!
