I have never used eStars but I believe it is not an ERMS/EDMS/EIMS but rather a software to track the evolution of a task, from a workflow perspective.  It is similar to the how we manage the life cycle of a record, but in this case it would be a task.  You can use it to track tasks, delegate tasks in your project, route information back and forth, track the status of various sub tasks, % of completion of tasks, approvals, dependencies and print reports.  Although it does allow you to attach files to the varying components of a task, I don't believe it is meant to be used for a formal repository of records. Cheers.
