Hello

I've been asked to research how long web server log files should be
kept, and wondered if anyone has any tips they would be willing to
share. I'm looking at them as similar to fax logs which we currently
retain for 2 years under a record series called Communication Systems.
Does that sound about right? From what I can tell it would include IP
addresses as well as individual email addresses. I've found
documentation from Australia, and Alberta on what data should be
included in the log files, but nothing specific about how long to retain
them, except as relates to "high risk" web sites.

Any comments would be gratefully appreciated.

Sincerely,
Julie Luckevich
