Good evening, RIMserv,
I have to ask: am I the only one who was more than slightly put off when I read that the young man held up his hand and interrupted, "Can I get the short version?" ... I am always surprised (although Letitia Baldrige says I probably shouldn't be) when deference by a younger person to an older person is forsaken. I am *hardly* the Letitia of records management, but I *do* try my best when it comes to manners. How impolitic of this colleague to act in such a manner.
Ye gods, I find people fascinating. I find the jobs they do fascinating. And, if someone loves their job as much as I love mine, I want to share their enthusiasm and learn more about what they do.
But maybe that's just us on this listserv. We like to say how much we love our jobs.
