So, what happens here?  If they maintained the ability to process and record
deeds and transactions in physical form, or at minimum, had microfilm
backup, they'd still be in business.  How many people are going to have
major tax implications because of their inability to complete transactions
by year end because of this?

I'm all for progress, but build an escape hatch along the way.
