We don't separate it. We consider the backup data to be for disaster
recovery/vital records purposes only. We apply retention to the data
on-line or to an assigned repository, such as a SAN (storage area
network).

Subject: [RM] tape back up question

Folks,

Here is a question that I have yet to receive a practical response from
IT:
When backing up server data, is there a way (or software application) to
segregate the information according to a records retention schedule?

How do others resolve this issue?

Thanks.

Linda Buss
