Actually, I do want to thank Skip for posting the position - I'd like to see
more available positions posted to the list. I think it's important to keep
apprised of what's opening up, what new challenges are out there, what folks
are being requested to do as part of their job.

The biggest problem I have with this posting, however, is that there is no
salary or range listed. I know there are a number of arguments people make
for not including them: cost of living, confidentiality (especially for
those already working in like positions at that organization), etc. I don't
buy those excuses.

To me, posting a position without a salary is like asking someone to buy a
car with no sticker price. I know lots of you still do that - I don't.
Similarly, if there isn't at least a ballpark salary range listed, I don't
care if the position was written based on my resume, I won't even give it a
glance. We're all big kids here - let me make the decision whether $50K is
enough to relocate to Cambridge and lift 50-lb boxes as necessary (it isn't,
by the way). I'd even like to see ARMA, AIIM, and the ICRM refuse postings
that do not have a salary range....

Back to work in chilly Colorado,
