I will chime in with all the other very interesting comments and remind
people that Email storage systems are not recordkeeping systems. They
may have a use in business, but they should not be the sole repository
of knowledge.
Some of the issues which implementers will have to address are outlined
in the National Archives of Australia Advice "Email archiving solutions
are not recordkeeping solutions" available at
http://www.naa.gov.au/recordkeeping/rkpubs/advices/advice69.html.
Disclaimer - I wrote this particular bit of information.
Michael asked for business rules for using email archiving systems
(unfortunately, no one has provided any). I would be very interested in
seeing how people manage to integrate the storage systems with their
recordkeeping systems.

Subject: Re: [RM] E-mail Business Rules
Hello,
I have been watching the list for about 18 months, this is my first
posting. Here is a question I was asked to post, by someone who is not
on the list. I look forward to your replies.
"Does anyone know of any large organizations, private or public, that
has adopted Business Rules for email archiving and retentions systems"?
Thank you
