CGOC also brings the corporate litigation and retention community
together thru some 15 events annually. It is hosting a workshop for
litigation, records, and IT executives next week in NY with Judge Grimm,
former Judge Hedges, and speakers from Citigroup, Merrill Lynch, Pfizer,
Purdue Pharma, Sprint, and other companies. This workshop is co-hosted
with ILTA and Nixon Peabody.

I'm sorry to say that there is a waiting list for the event as its
attendance was capped at 120 ... but did want to alert you to CGOC as it
has long focused on the intersection of retention and preservation and
the execution of both (where IT comes in).

If folks would like to get alerted to future events, please let me know
or you can register on the CGOC site.

Best,
Deidre

I just joined this group so I hope I send this out to everyone
correctly.

Below please find information about an upcoming conference on
E-Discovery that positions RIM as the answer to that business problem.
This is the first attempt I know of to bring the IT, Legal and RIM
communities together to be proactive. The conference is sponsored by
ARMA International but you do not need to be an ARMA member to attend.

I hope to meet some of you there.

Best regards,
Tina

E-Discovery and Beyond: Harnessing the Power of Collaboration
June 25-26 2007
Kansas City Airport Marriott

With increased attention on e-discovery and electronic records
management, professionals are finding that success or failure is a
direct result of the collaboration between your Legal, IT and Records
and Information Management departments. How can your organization work
together to manage records better and to give you a competitive
advantage?

This conference will explore the many dimensions of collaboration and
how it contributes to the success of an organization and to e-discovery.
It is vital to an organization's progress to have the RIM, legal and IT
departments working together in order to comply with regulations,
respond to litigation, and compete in the market place. Compliance teams
are necessary to a good records management program and are encouraged to
take advantage of this educational opportunity together.

Listen to case studies, panel discussions and individual presenters as
they:

*	Summarize the latest case law and procedural developments
concerning e-discovery and the new Federal Rules of Civil Procedure
*	Describe the elements of successful collaboration and adapt the
elements to specific business needs
*	Respond to the e-discovery process in a timely, cost-efficient,
and legally compliant manner
*	Evaluate the need for a Records and Information Management
program as an integral component for e-discovery and as a strategic
business process

You'll leave this conference with a plan of action and an understanding
of the tools and processes needed to emerge gracefully from e-discovery
while improving your competitive market position.

Space is limited. Register your compliance team today at
