Good morning every one,

This is more of a legal question.

Does any one know if the Statistics Act in Canada supersede the
Provincial Privacy Act (FOIP) in Alberta?

Some one from Stats Canada faxed me a request for information on a
former student. The letter says that each selected respondent will
receive a letter informing them of the survey...but then the letter is
asking us to provide their latest phone number and address. There's no
signed form authorizing us to release information.

The whole fax seems fishy to me.

My gut's telling me not to release any info to them!

Any feedback would be helpful.

Thanks,
Brianne Scott (formerly Leclair)
