I'm familiar with two of the three authors and have spoken to them
personally at LegalWorks and WestLaw sessions before. While they DEFINITELY
understand the Law, what the lack about the understanding or records
management could fill the Grand Canyon over the rim.

One of them postulated from a panel one day that there was "no Federal
definition of what a record is"... the following day, I brought in a copy of
44 USC Chapter 33, Section 3301and he said "Well, I've never seen this
before" and started to write it down... I said you can keep it, I made and
extra copy because I felt you might need it today. =) What was interesting
was he passed it down the line to his fellow panelists, two of whom were
circuit court judges, who also HAD NEVER SEEN IT.

I'd be interested in seeing the type of advice this new publication has to
offer, especially when it comes to "rules" and "checklists", but $150 is
pretty steep for a how to book about records management written by three
people, none of which ARE records managers.
