Good morning,
First, thanks to those who've commented thus far, they're much
appreciated. I should clarify that I, as records manager, am/will not
be determining the when/how's of asserting attorney-client privilege...
you're right, that is not my role. I am simply trying to find out what
other companies are doing to "communicate" the when/how's of
attorney-client privilege throughout their organizations, to help their
employees understand when/how to use it properly.
Prior to coming to the ListServ my first stop was to search the Internet
(as suggested earlier), and while I've found sites that explain what
attorney-client privilege is and who it affects, none I've found--so
far, explain how to communicate it's proper use on an enterprise-wide
basis.
Sorry for any confusion, and I would still appreciate responses relative
to the communication vehicle used in an organization for word out on the
when/how's of asserting attorney-client privilege to your employees. Is
it addressed via a policy, or procedures? Are there guidelines
published on the when/how's of asserting attorney-client privilege, and
if any of these kinds of things are used, how do you make sure people
read and follow it?
Thanks again.
