Both albums (I can't refer to them as discs) are available on CD.  They have been migrated to current technology.  I have had the Last Waltz by the Band in 4 different formats over the years.  

It is certainly our responsibility to make sure that we have records in a usable state.  Keeping up with the migration to a current format is the new role.  

Tim also makes a good point about the availablity of materials.  Will you be able to buy parts for your film/fiche reader in ten years?  Has anyone tried to buy a new needle for a phonograph lately?
